Participating Programs

The following graduate programs are grouped under the roof of the BGTS.

Research Training Group 1620 "Models of Gravity"

Since April 2012 the RTG offers a structured PhD program composed of specialized lectures and courses on key qualifications.
The main research theme is the study of models of gravity which, e.g., emerge as effective theories in the low energy limit of string theory or other approaches to quantum gravity.

Participating Universities: Bielefeld - Bremen - Copenhagen - Hannover - Oldenburg

International Research Training Group 2235 "Searching for the regular in the irregular: Analysis of singular and random systems"

The IRTG 2235 is a joint research program established by the Faculty of Mathematics at Bielefeld University, Germany, and the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Seoul National University, South Korea. In a truly international and competitive environment, doctoral students study singular and random systems.

International Cooperation: Department of Mathematical Sciences at Seoul National University

The Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management (BiGSEM)

BiGSEM was established in 2001 by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Bielefeld University in close cooperation with the Center for Mathematical Economics (IMW) as one of the first German programmes offering a structured doctoral programme in Economics. Early in the program students are involved in research activities and encouraged to interact with the international research community.

Innovative Training Network ‘Expectations and Social Influence Dynamics in Economics’ (ExSIDE)

The ExSIDE consortium consists of eight leading European universities and nine non-academic partners. Each of the 15 ExSIDE doctoral fellows is hosted by two universities, has a secondment with a non-academic partner and will graduate with a joint or double degree.

Participating Universities: Universität Bielefeld - Università Ca’ Foscari, Venezia - Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano - Université catholique de Louvain - Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne - Universiteit van Amsterdam - University College London - University of Surrey
