Participating Programs

The following graduate programs are grouped under the roof of the BGTS.

Research Training Group 1620 "Models of Gravity"

Since April 2012 the RTG offers a structured PhD program composed of specialized lectures and courses on key qualifications.
The main research theme is the study of models of gravity which, e.g., emerge as effective theories in the low energy limit of string theory or other approaches to quantum gravity.

Participating Universities: Bielefeld - Bremen - Copenhagen - Hannover - Oldenburg

International Research Training Group 2235 "Searching for the regular in the irregular: Analysis of singular and random systems"

The IRTG 2235 is a joint research program established by the Faculty of Mathematics at Bielefeld University, Germany, and the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Seoul National University, South Korea. In a truly international and competitive environment, doctoral students study singular and random systems.

International Cooperation: Department of Mathematical Sciences at Seoul National University

The Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management (BiGSEM)

BiGSEM was established in 2001 by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Bielefeld University in close cooperation with the Center for Mathematical Economics (IMW) as one of the first German programmes offering a structured doctoral programme in Economics. Early in the program students are involved in research activities and encouraged to interact with the international research community.

Innovative Training Network ‘Economic Policy in Complex Environments’ (EPOC)

EPOC unifies many different experts in various fields of research, 7 leading European universities, 10 non-academic partners and 15 doctoral fellows. Renowned scientists and experts from outside of academia come together to train EPOC doctoral fellows, to work with them on the challenging objectives of the program.

Participating Universities: Universität Bielefeld - University of Amsterdam - Universitat autònoma de Barcelona - Københavns Universitet - Università cattolica del Sacro Cuore - Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne - Università Ca' Foscari, Venezia
